Top Gift Ideas for Dogs in your life

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s only Nov 5th but I’ve already put up the Christmas tree, which has made the whole house feels so much more cozy. Every year I experience seasonal depression when Daylight Savings comes into effect and it gets dark at 5:30pm. Putting up the tree helps make everything a tiny bit better. Anyways, since the Christmas tree is up, I figured we can start working on our Christmas wish lists too, right? I’ve put together 15 of Olive’s favorite things and some new things that are on her wish list for this year.

  1. This fluffy bed is Olive’s favorite place to lay. We’ve gone through tons of dog beds in the past 4 years and this bed is the only one she’s regularly laid in on her own. It’s so comfy and soft that I sometimes squeeze in there with her to cuddle until she get’s annoyed at me and leaves. I wish it came in a large enough size for me too.

  2. Olive loves being under things. Couches, tables, beds. This Teepee I got her is in my bedroom for her to sneak into at night. I did tons of research for a Teepee that looked good as well as be large enough for her. This one fits her really well but I would not recommend for a dog bigger than 26 lbs.

  3. Another item that I’ve been wanting to invest in is a water filtration system so Olive can have fresh water. This water fountain has thousands of great reviews and comes with extra filters.

  4. We have a few Fun Feeder in our house. Most of our foster friends inhale their meals, which leads to stomach aches and upset stomachs and these feeders help slow them down significantly.

  5. This year, we’ve started to play more with frisbees. The Chuckit Frisbees are fabric and soft, which Olive is comfortable grabbing mid air at this point. I also love that they come in smaller sizes for smaller pets.

  6. We’ve had our Chuckit Balls for years now and they still look brand new. We’ve tested in water and they float as well. I love that these also come in multiple sizes. The smaller ones fit better in Olive’s mouth.

  7. If your dog is obsessed with fetch and you don’t seem to be throwing the ball far enough, this Chuckit Launcher is the best investment. One of my greatest joys is playing fetch with dogs and this elevates the game to a whole new level.

  8. One of our rainy day activities involves this Treat ball. It’s easy to set up (and has multiple settings to make it easier/harder for your pet). You just put in a handful of their favorite treats and watch them figure out how to get the treat out. You can also use this for normal feeding by putting their kibble in there.

  9. Kongs are necessary for all dog owners in my opinion. This is such a versatile toy and I love it for that. I usually put treats, peanut butter, yogurt, or pumpkin puree in them and freeze for a fun activity for Olive and our fosters. Kongs usually occupies the dogs for 30 minutes to an hour depending on the filling.

  10. Olive is obsessed with squirrels. One of our friends actually go this Squirrel Puzzle toy for Olive and I think I can say that she very much enjoys finally being able to hunt the toy squirrels in the tree.

  11. I love puzzle toys and watching dogs figure out how to work them. These next two gift ideas are Outward Hound puzzle toys and we pull them out for Olive to play with every few weeks or during rainy/cold days.

  12. Another interactive toy that we have in rotation is this Outward Hound puzzle. Like I said earlier, I try to pull these out every few weeks for Olive to play with.

  13. Furbo Dog Camera has been on our list this year. A way to check on Olive while I’m not home is 100% necessary to me. And a vessel that dispenses treats? Olive’s must have.

  14. If you’re looking for something more affordable, this WYZE Camera is perfect and easy to set up.

  15. Ok and lastly, for the most spoiled puppers, sign up for a Barkbox subscription! We’ve had ours for years and I love getting themed toys and treats every month.
